Former presidential candidate, Kizza Besigye, on Wednesday morning met with opposition Members of Parliament at the legislative house in Kampala.
According to Makerere University councillor, Doreen Nyanjura, Besigye is meeting the MPs to chat a way forward for “dismantling the dictator.
Besigye also intended to brief opposition MPs on how they can remain united in order to defeat the ruling National Resistance Movement [NRM] party.
This comes two weeks to the Rukungiri Woman MP by-election where opposition claims security forces and government officials are allegedly being mobilised to ensure a victory for the ruling party.
Rukungiri is Besigye’s home town where youths were terrorised and others killed during age limit protests there last year.
The meeting currently underway at parliament will see Besigye give his new position on opposition leadership at parliament that he initially opposed after the 2016 elections.
Besigye arrived in the accompanied by former Leader of opposition Wafula Ogutu.
He was warmly received by Parliamentary police and protocol officers.
